Zept functions like a dating app but we recommend and introduce students to schools. Your students put in their grades and what they want to study. Then, we recommend schools to them one at a time. When a student favourites a school, it is added to their shortlist of schools they are considering applying to. Students can share this list with you to further discuss goals and requirements on their journey.
When a student favourites a school, we share their profile with that school. We give the favourited school the opportunity to recruit the student by messaging directly through the chat system in Zept.
Students get to choose how their information is shared. Zept is careful to put barriers around sharing personally identifiable information and messaging with strangers. Details of students’ contact information, school transcripts, and precise location are never shared with third parties. Passwords on Zept are encrypted, protecting them from the threat of hackers.
Students are in the driver’s seat on Zept. As a verified guidance counsellor, you have the ability to invite students to Zept. However, your students do not have to accept this invitation. Your student’s Zept profile and shortlist are only shared with you if the student grants you permission to view it.
We appreciate all information you share. The information you provide about your high school is extremely helpful to Zept in finding universities and colleges that are the best individual fit for each of your students. For example, providing the curriculum that your school teaches improves the accuracy of our recommendations based on grades. As a verified counsellor, the students who have shared their profile with you are identifiable as better qualified candidates for recruitment. It’s an easy, powerful way to give your students a lift.
